The sensor coupling unit SKE serves the purpose of measuring and conversion of data from different sensors inside the test bed. It is a part of the automation system ITS4. Signals are collected and digitalized by the SKE. Then, they are forwarded to test bench computer, where they are processed.
The coupling unit has 32 input ports, and can contain different types of sensors (Type K, PT100, 0 – 10V, 4 – 20mA). The warning limit and shut-off limit can be configured dynamically.
The SKE is located inside the test cell above the engine. Due to this installed location, signal paths are kept as short as possible and measurement inaccuracy minimized.
