RVM Wear measurement technology

The DKF22 wear measurement system can be used to record, display, and analyse the wear behaviour of mechanical systems during ongoing operation using radionuclide technology (RNT). The DKF22 makes it possible to complete wear analyses to optimise wear parts, filters, lubricants and coolant systems with low costs and minimal test bench times. At its most complex state, it consists of two measuring heads with detectors, a multi-channel analyser and an analysis unit.

Measurement methods

Two different measurement methods can be used for this purpose: the concentration measurement method and thin film differential method. The following can be analysed using RVM wear measurement technology:

  • Run-in behaviour
  • Sensitivity and tolerances
  • Three-dimensional wear characteristics
  • Test benches and testing
    • Engines
      • Combustion engines
      • Hybrid & battery
