About IAVF

The company

Originally called “Institut für Angewandte Verschleißforschung GmbH” the IAVF Antriebstechnik GmbH was founded by Dr. Andreas Gervé in 1980. Gervé had previously served as the director of the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Institute.

At its founding, the company focused on wear analysis using radionuclides and radionuclide technology (RNT).

Today, the IAVF is divided into the three areas of test benches, measurement technology and research, and offers a broad portfolio of testing and engineering services for customers from fields like mobility and lubricants.

To fulfil their different requirements in specific projects, our employees develop custom measurement technology for use in our test benches. Component and damage analysis in our laboratories complements trials and testing on our test benches.
