Component and damage analysis

We regularly complete component measurements at the same time as engine, component and tribometer testing.

In addition, we also prepare component and damage analyses as separate tests on production parts or on failed or faulty components.

We have many years of experience, in particular in engine mechanical development, component measurement and from many research projects related to the issue of tribomutation. We can provide information on friction and wear procedures and damage mechanisms in combustion engines, components and aggregates.

We use these findings to assess production conditions or damage patterns, which we record using sometimes extensive geometric, surface topographic, metallographic and element depth profile analyses. These analysis allow us to develop recommendations, for instance to optimise production, for run-in processes, and for operations.
